What to expect during your first visit

What to expect during your first visit at Heavenly Hands Massage & Bodywork

1. MEET AND GREET

Prior to your first arrival at Heavenly Hands you will be sent an email with an intake form to record any medical history, injuries or physical conditions that we should be aware of.  This form can be completed and submitted online any time prior to your appointment.  Please be as detailed as possible when completing these forms.  It is important that your therapist be informed of any medical conditions and/or medications as they may prohibit or limit the use of certain techniques.

2. STARTING YOUR SESSION

Your therapist will review your intake form and discuss the reasons for your visit and any specific areas or issues that you would like to address during your session, as well as address any questions or concerns that you have at that time.  Your session time includes 10 minutes for consultation and dressing.

3. GETTING PREPARED

Your massage will take place in a tranquil, private room.  After your initial consultation, your therapist will leave the room to allow you to disrobe to your level of comfort and lay down on the table under the top sheet.  You may choose to completely disrobe or remain partially clothed.  If you are unsure if an article of clothing would be in the way, you can ask your therapist before they leave the room.  During your session, your therapist will only uncover the area of your body that is being worked on.  Proper draping and/or clothing is REQUIRED and non-negotiable

4. COMMUNICATING DURING YOUR MASSAGE

Your massage is all about you! Communication is the key to achieving the most effective treatment possible. During your session your therapist will check in periodically to see how your are doing with the amount of pressure and make sure that you are still comfortable.  If at any time something needs to change please feel free to let us know, even before we ask.  Promise there will be no hurt feelings!  If you are experiencing spots that are more tender to the touch, please let your therapist know.  Also, please feel free to ask questions about the technique being used or anything else that may come up in the session.  We'll be happy to answer.

5. AFTER YOUR MASSAGE

When your massage is finished, your therapist will step out of the room so that you may dress.  When you are ready, just open the door to let your therapist know that they may return.

6. WRAPPING UP

Once you are finished dressing, your therapist will check you out of your appointment, accept payment and schedule your next appointment.  We accept CASH, CREDIT CARDS and FSA CARDS as form of payment.  Since we are a separate business from the chiropractic office, all transactions will be handled by your therapist, not the office manager at the front desk.

We look forward to seeing you at your first appointment!
